Toni Kroos set to retire from professional football after the Euros 2024

Toni Kroos is one of the most illustrous footballers of his generation. The 34 year old German midfielder who has been at Real Madrid since 2014, is finally contemplating hanging up his boots after the Euro 2024 which will be held in his home country of Germany later this summer. 

 

Kroos has had a splendid club career, winning 4 champions league titles with Real Madrid, and with a place in the finals against Borrussia Dortmund on 1 Jun 2024, there is a strong possibilty of making it a fantabulous 5 trophies with the Galacticos. 

The record for most UEFA Champions League trophies won by an individual player is Francisco 'Paco' Gento who has won 6 trophies also for Real Madrid. Having also won a Champions League Trophy with Bayern Munich in 2013, Kroos has a chance to take his career tally to a record-equalling 6 Champions League Trophies.

 

Kroos has also won the FIFA World Cup with Germany and has netted 17 times so far in professional international appearances. 

 

Starting his career with Bayern Munich at age 17, Toni Kroos quickly gained the reputation of a world class playmaker and robust box-to-box midfielder with extraordinary vision and goal creating abilities.
